Pension and divorce Harvey Curtis Case Study

Pension and divorce

Ann and her husband sadly divorced. As part of the financial agreement, Ann received a share of her husband’s final salary pension of almost 50%.

The share was to be allocated to Ann by way of an external transfer value. However, Ann had no pension arrangements of her own into which the pension share could be paid. Therefore, our osenior consultant, David Clark, arranged for a new pension plan to be set up for Ann.

He then ensured that the transfer of the benefits from Ann’s husband’s scheme to her new pension arrangement was processed as smoothly as possible and arranged for her pension share to be invested by a Discretionary Fund Manager.
